2010 Elkridge Hurricane Cheerleading
Registration is now open for the 2010 season. Join the winners of the 2009 Mid-Maryland Cheerleading competition. All three competing squads took first place this past year.
The Elkridge Hurricane Cheer program offers cheerleaders the opportunity to learn cheerleading skills while instilling teamwork, sportsmanship and individual progression skills. If cheerleading is a sport for your child, this is a great way to build these skills to prepare to high school. Over the years, Hurricane Cheerleaders have gone on to cheer both in high school and competitively. No experience necessary to register.
This year to make registration easier, three age groups are listed for registering purposes only; 5-7, 8-10, 11-13. The ages of the cheerleaders registered will determine what age groups the squads will be for the season. The Hurricanes follow the Mid-Maryland Football and Cheer guidelines. Age is determined by the age of the child on August 1st.
The 2010 Cheer season will begin the first week of August. During the month of August, squads will practice 2-3 nights per week. Practices will be outside of Elkridge Elementary and Elkridge Landing Middle until school opens. Practice nights will depend on the squad.
The Elkridge Hurricanes are a part of the Mid-Maryland Football and Cheer Program. The cheerleaders will support the football players through the Championship game. The cheerleaders will also participate in the 2010 Mid-Maryland Cheerleading competition in November.
The cheerleaders are provided a uniform, consisting of a skirt and vest. Cheerleaders are required to purchase a midriff, bloomers, socks and cheer shoes.
All cheerleaders are required to have a Medical form and Maryland ID card.
